Internationally
Moalem Weitemeyer Bendtsen has a broad international perspective. Many of our clients are foreign companies. The majority of our work is conducted in English. A large degree of our business consists of assisting foreign companies in need of Danish commercial legal services.
We remain outside of any law firm alliance. This independence is a result of a conscious choice allowing us always to be free to work together with, or recommend to our clients, the foreign law firm that we believe is best suited in the relevant matter.
Moalem Weitemeyer Bendtsen’s attorneys are often involved in large commercial transactions and projects where it is common for the participants to have operations in several countries. We posses significant experience with cross-border transactions, and we often actively manage deals on behalf of and in corporation with our clients, just as we do with other assignments under the instruction of foreign law firms.
We have close and well-developed relationships with several leading law firms in selected jurisdictions; from the best firms in Scandinavia to the leading firms in New York and the “Magic Circle” firms in London, and, because we are not a member of any alliance, we can either recommend the cooperating partner best suited for the particular transaction or work together with the client's preferred local advisers. In both scenarios, we can provide a one-stop shop; providing our clients with one point of contact, one transaction manager and one composite invoice.
We have an active and ambitious secondment programme for our employees, with the ambition of almost all of our attorneys spending at least a period of a few months with clients or with a law firm abroad.
Through our outward secondments to, for example, London and New York we have an ambition of developing legal and business contacts and an in-depth first-hand knowledge of the way in which leading foreign firms do business. This again assists us both to represent our Danish clients abroad and to advise our foreign clients in Denmark.
All in all, the combination of a close, but non-exclusive, relationship with the best foreign law firms and a successful secondment programme, provides us with the tools to offer our clients a tailored, first-rate international service.
