Terms of Employment
Moalem Weitemeyer Bendtsen aims to offer a compensation package which as a minimum matches the ones offered by other leading law firms in Denmark.
We offer a fixed salary to our Junior Associates and Senior Associates up to and including 3 years as an attorney.
We have developed a bonus scheme for groups of employees who do not receive overtime premiums which honours extraordinary efforts. We aim at ensuring that common interests prevail between our business development and results and the compensation of individuals.
At Moalem Weitemeyer Bendtsen there are no "own case arrangements" due to the fact that we do not believe in the term "own case" as a sustainable basis for a business which delivers specialized and integrated legal services.
Moalem Weitemeyer Bendtsen offers newly employed Junior Associates holiday with pay in the current and next holiday year. Depending on their date of employment, newly graduated employees who have not earned any holiday pay are permitted up to a total of four weeks of holiday with pay.
If the position is taken up on 1 February, the employee is offered three weeks of holiday with pay to be spent in the first succeeding holiday year which begins on 1 May.
If the position is taken up on 1 September, the employee is offered two weeks of holiday with pay to be spent in the period before the first succeeding 30 April. Futhermore, the employee is offered three weeks of holiday with pay to be spent in the first succeeding holiday year which begins on 1 May.
If the position is taken up on other dates than the abovementioned, the newly graduated Junior Associates are also offered holiday with pay.
The following holiday years, the employee has 5 weeks of holiday and 5 extra days off with pay.
When the trial period has ended, all staff members are entitled to five extra days off with pay in addition to the holiday laid down in the Danish Holiday Act.
Staff members are also entitled to full pay during absence due to their child's first day of illness.
Study period - the Danish bar exam
Moalem Weitemeyer Bendtsen offers all Associates 2 weeks paid vacation in connection with the preparation for the Danish bar exam. In addition, the firm's Senior Associates and Partners will assist with practical training within the examination subjects. Futhermore, Moalem Weitemeyer Bendtsen Advokatpartnerselskab grants the Associate the day off after the bar exam.
We have a compulsory pension scheme for employees. Pension advice is offered to our employees through our pension adviser.
Customer and competition clauses
Attorneys employed with Moalem Weitemeyer Bendtsen are not subject to non-solicitation or non-compete clauses.
Employee development interviews
All staff members are entitled to at least two employee development interviews per year.
Female employees with more than three year seniority with us are entitled to full pay for 4 weeks prior to their due date and for 22 weeks following the birth. Male employees are entitled to two weeks' paternity leave immediately after the delivery. Further, Moalem Weitemeyer Bendtsen offers male employees with more than three years seniority with us 8 consecutive weeks' paternity leave during the period between the 14th week and the 46th week after the delivery with no reduction in salary.
Permanent staff members are offered a broadband connection at home with access to our network from their home computers.
PC and mobile phone
Permanent staff members are provided with a laptop and a mobile phone paid for by the firm.
We encourage our employees to teach at universities, business schools and other institutions of higher education.
